New to forum, been reloading for 20yrs,Dillon 550,RockC,old Lyman turret..Love reloading, lotta .45 and 7.62 Match rds, some weird calibers....Anyway,I have 900 Fed LR mag primers and I don't load anything that needs a mag primer...Could I drop powder by 2-3 grs in a 45/70(Marlin Guide Gun,I love big holes)and use the primers or find an even trade for LgR..

Actually, I've just been working up some loads for a 308 Win. handgun and tried Federal 215M primers among others. At least with the powders I tried, I didn't need to reduce the load with the 215M primers. In fact the best loads seem to be with CCI 250 (also a magnum primer) primers with IMR 4064.
