I recently traded for a 338 Black Mesa Express. I did not get the dies or brass and am in the process of trying to find both. Black Mesa Rifle Co did not have any cases and said 375 RUM cases could be used. Any info on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks Garland

If I remember right...the 338 BME was the 404 Jeffery necked down to 338 with the shoulder blown out. So it would be close to the 338 Edge or 338/300RUM. If all else fails you might be able to neck up 300RUM brass to 338 with a 338RUM die set and get something that would fire in your rifle, then send the cases off and have a custom die set made. I would start though, by contacting RCBS and Redding and asking them if they had the specs.

Black Mesa used to have a basic web sight that had their case dimensions on it.

Tom Turpin (I think) did a couple magazine articles on the BMEs when they came out...unfortunatly just a couple years before the RUM line started.

Neat round...just made redundant too soon.

If Black Mesa Rifles is still around why not have him make you a set of dies? He should have the reamers.

Good luck.
