50gr Vmax in 223 - Loads?

I've been trying to get a consistent load for my savage 223 with the 50gr vmax. I've tried H4895, Varget, and H335 in Lake City brass using WSR and CCI BR450 primers.

Any other favorite powders to try? Just looking for something around .5 MOA consistently. Seems like Varget and H4895 were too slow and H335 dirtied the barrel like no other...

I've used VV N130 and N133 with good results with that bullet.

OMG!!!
No one mentioned Benchmark??!!

Would be my first choice. I must be odd.

If you want to try the 55gn Vmax. Give it 25.4gn Benchmark with Win SR primers. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the input guys. VV powders are hard to come by around here unless you order. Hodgdon and IMR powders are the easiest to find with some reloader here and there.

I will see if I can come up with some Re 7 and Benchmark. I've read alot about Benchmark and was planning to try that next.

I didn't have much luck with WSR primers, but I'll give them another try. CCI BR450 seemed to burn cleaner.

JB:

Try IMR3031 with a 50 grain bullet. I use 24.8 grains with a Sierra 50 Grain Blitz King for one hole groups, out of my 700V

Benchmark, VV133 and 130.
I use Benchmark with 52s and 50s and the results are superb.
Varget and 4895 are way too slow for a 223 and a light bullet.
Most published data for the 223 seems to overstate the available capacity of the case. I have never managed to get anything more than 26.5 grains of Varget despite 27.5 max being quoted for the 223. Same goes for RL15.
