I have an Ohaus 10-10 beam scale which I purchased used about 30 years ago. I don't have the instructions. It has a 500gn brass weight that can hang from the beam. Can someone tell me how this is used? I think it's for weighing heavy stuff like bullets. Thanks

The wgt is attached to the poise on the little peg by the pointer end of the beam and allows you to weight objects from 500 - 1000 grs. Be sure to rezero / level the scale before attaching the wgt. [ 05-30-2003, 18:00: Message edited by: Ol` Joe ]

By the way, while that weight will change the range of your scale from 0-500 grains to 500-1000 grains by hanging it on the beam, the actual weight of the weight itself is not 500 grains, but will actually be stamped on the weight and is around 263 grains or so (at least mine is). You can use it to check your scale for accuracy, provided your eyes are good enough to read the little stamp.

I got an Ohaus 3100 Dial-O-Grain a couple months ago at a gunshow when some guy's grandfather died. It didn't come with a dish. I know about how much the dish wieghed and I have put that much ballast in the tray. I could make one if I had a picture.
