416 Rigby

370 grain North Fork
104 grains H-4831sc
Norma brass
Fed#215 primer
chronographed velocity = 2464fps; SD = 9
gives me 1 hole groups @ 50yds

You might also want to consider working up a load for a conventional solid or flat-nosed solid. I use these on the small critters, to minamize cape damage. The Cup Point solids might work too - not sure, as I haven't shot anyting small with them.

I have shot a lot of game with a .375 and 270 NF. I load 72 gr RL15 and a 270 NF and it goes 2770 fps in mine. I load 105 gr of H4831SC and the 370 NF in the .416 for 2530 fps. This is a great load in my Ruger RSM and I can shoot it for a year and never shoot a group over an inch at 100 yards. I have shot groups as small as .260 with this load and only a 1.5-6x Leupold.

A shot not taken is always a miss

Thanks Jstevens.

That was what I was looking for. I want A little slower on the 416 Rigby, but with the 400 grainers that might be about right.

In my pre 64 375 I use 69 gr RL 15 w/300 NF with no pressure sign up to 70.5. Start low and work up as usual.
