I wanted to know what the opinions were on shooting either a v-max, sierra HPBT, or a Nosler Ballistic Tip from a Rem 700 243 for coyotes mainly. Thanks in Advance.

I haven't fired any from a 243 in quite a while ,but in the rifles i use now they should work fine. I have used them in a 25-06,257AI,22-250AIand my 25x39.The coyote will die quick if you do your part.Oh I don't skin them any more so pelt damage doesn't matter to me.Good Luck

I have a Rem 700 CDL in 243 and the NBT perform quite well in it. I've shot the 55 grain and the 70 grain with groups .9-1.2" with very high velocities. The 55 grainer is coming out at 4050fps and the 70 grainer is 3750fps. Works great but at those velocities is very hard on pelts if that is a concern.

I've shot the 58 grain VMax out of my 243 and they are devastating on coyotes. At 100-150 yards they explode inside the body so I didn't see any exit hole damage. From 200 yards to about 400 yards they leave a big exit hole so they are not fur-friendly.
