I want to try some 270 grain, and perhaps later some 300 grain Fail Safe bullets in my 378 Weatherby. These are expensive little beggars, so I'm wondering if anyone has a tip or two as to most likely powders & loads?

My max was 114 gr of either H4831 or RL 22 with the 270 slug. Velocity was 3100 fps and excellent accuracy. Never used the 300 but start at 105 gr of either and work up. You will do ok.

They were very accurate in my Winchester Model 70 but they failed miserably on the African game i took. The pedals broke off some on the way through a Zebra's shoulder and bent the shank and on the lion the Ph and I almost became lunch
