Looking for advice/opinions about digital powder dispensers. I have used a plastic spoon and a scale for many years with good results but find myself getting lazy.
Would appreciate any input the forum would have. Thanks, Smoker

I have and use a RCBS powder dispenser and electronic scale combo.....it is made for them by PACT....the new model is supposed to be faster than the model that I have....and the PACT sold version has a lifetime warranty and the RCBS version has a one year warranty...unlike their mechanical products the electronic ones are outsourced and limited in warranty....the scale is extra nice for sorting rounds in rimfire, cases and bullets and quick charge weights...the powder dispenser is nice if you spoon a light charge or throw a light charge with a mechanical dispenser and then let the dispenser/scale finish it off....they are sensitive to drafts and vibration of any sort......I prefer a good accurte mechanical dispenser for ball and easy to throw powders but for the stick and bulky hard to throw powders the electronic combo is nice.....BUT I have a accurate balance beam scale and good mechanical throwers to check with and fall back on if needed......HTH...good luck and good shooting-loading!!!

There are four that I'm aware of.

Lyman is on their second generation. I have NO experience with it. The first generation Lyman was quite different and, well, somewhat unfortunate.

Then there are two RCBS units. Their current model is nice. I have one and I like it. RCBS, however, had troubles with their supplier so in a month or so they are coming out with a completely new unit. I've seen it at the last Shot Show but I'm waiting for the technical details. I'd suggest you do the same.

Smoker,

I have the new Lyman DPS 1200 System and like it a lot. For heavy charges I speed things up by dipping a charge 6 or 8 grains under what I want, and let the machine top it off. I use the Lee Powder Dippers for this purpose. It's a nice unit overall. Bill T.

I use the Pact,..and it does a standup job. It throws a 95gr charge in less than 1 minute (more like 25sec) and is within .1gr 99% of the time. I think bumping the bench when seating bullets may throw it off,..so it may actually be more accurate if mounted on another bench.

That does it! I'll just have to own one. Had a guy with a new in the box Pact for sale but he seems to have vaporized. Damn, price was reasonable too. Thanks Guy's, Smoker
