I would love to see some pictures of some properly neck turned brass. I am new to neck turning and at the suggestions of several of you went with the K&M. This is the order that I prepped the brass (Laupa 6BR):
1) used the Expandiron
2) Full length sized (Redding dies)
3) trimmed to length (1.55")
4) neck turned - measures .263 with bullet seated (.265 reamer)

I'm not real confident on the correct turning AT the shoulder. I figure not enough and it might not chamber right and too much would weaken the shoulder and risk speration.

The final case and bullet is going to be sent to Fred at Sharp Shooters Supply so he can chamber my new barrel for it. OK guys, I know my terminology is probably off some but I'm sure you get the idea.

I am looking for any guidance you are willing to share. If my sequence or procedures are incorrect please set me straight! Thanks, Keith

I only turn brass for my 30-06, and then only sometimes. I do use the K&M with the expandiron. I stop turning just before the neck meets the shoulder. My 30-06 bullets need to be seated so far out that the base of the bullet is no where near the shoulder.

Use of the expandiron:
Your expandiron was made to produce the exact diameter needed for the mandrel in your turner. If you size your case AFTER the expandiron, you are erasing the diameter that the expandiron gave you.

Hope this helps,
