Guys, Picked up a local magazine and advertised are the new Woodleigh offerings: 6.5mm 160gr PP, .308 240gr PP and a 150gr flatnose for the 30/30, new 8mm offerings in 200gr and 220gr (for the 325WSM?), a 250gr PP in 9.3 and 230gr for the .400Purdey and the 500gr for the 50/110. Most interesting to me are the new 8mm (hopefully Protected Points PP) and the 240gr for the .30 cal. More experiments for Summer. Cheers... Con

Jon A, In the magazine advertisement its "designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 30-06 Springfield". Its a 240gr Weldcore PP with two very pretty mushroomed projectiles, one from a buff and the other "smaller game". Once the M17 I've bought arrives, its testing time with 220gr and 240gr if I can find them. I'm calling Woodleigh on Monday to check availability and order some of these, the 8mm projectiles and hopefully the 310gr .35 that I cant seem to locate. Cheers... Con

Con, Thanks for the heads up!! For me, there are some very interesting bullets in your list. I'm a big fan of Woodleigh bullets. I envy you guys in Australia having easier access to them. -Bob F.

BF there is plenty of bullets you guys can get in the staes that we can't get here or if you can you have to take out a commercial Bill to finance aquisition in some cases regular Hornady's or speers are dearer than woodleigh's

If somebody picks up thwe phone and calls let me know about those 240 gr 30 cals. I just checked the website and didn't see them listed but maybe they aren't a web deal, being a limited run, or the site isn't updated yet. I am interested!!!!

Spoke to Geoff this afternoon, The 30cal 240gr is available now and can be ordered. The .30 projectile has accounted for near 70 Asiatic buffalo to date for testing. It has been accurate in standard 1:10" twist 30/06 barrels. The 8mm offerings are Protected Point 200gr and 220gr and are for the magnum 8's, also been tested on buffalo successfully. I should receive both .30 (240gr) and some 8mm (220gr) in the post by Wednesday. Cheers... Con

For people in the US, Geoff just told me they will be air freighting some 240's to Huntingtons in two weeks, so they should be available for us soon. He also told me that while it was designed for the 30-06, they have tested it at 300 Win Mag velocities and it has done really well. While he wouldn't make any guarantees at 300 RUM velocities, he said it may do well--he said to go ahead and try it. When you've seen what a 30 cal 240 can do as much as I have, even when constructed like a varmint bullet, I'm pretty confident this bullet (which is going to be quite a bit more stout than my beloved 240 SMK) is going to be pure devistation out of a RUM. Big hole. Deep hole. A level of "thump" beyond what people are used to seeing from a 30 cal anything.... That's what I expect anyway. I'll order a box and test them as soon as my new barrel is screwed on.
