Hi to all.
What powders do you think are the most similar to Rel 15 to replace it in calibers like 9,3x62,8x60, etc.
The reason is that here in Argentina is dificult to found powder and we have to work with the existence.
What I mean is if someone have personal experience with :
Imr4895
Rel 12
Accurate 2700
etc
Thanks to all of you

IMR 4064.

Don't use it as a grain for grain replacement, but it is awfully damn close.

I'd say ditto for Varget in my .375-338 application.

The 9.3 x 62 is close enough in size etc to the 35 Whelan or the 338/06...

I have the 338/06, but often have used 35 Whelan data and 9.3 x 62 data as references for working up loads until I got ahold of more load data for the 338/06...

Besides Varget, IMR 4895, H 4895, & IMR 4064....

IMR 4320, H 380, W 748... are in the same burn ranges....

IMR 3031, RL 7, IMR 4198, IMR 4227, H 4227, H 4198, Benchmark, SR 4759, H 322, H 335 are all faster powders.. but since they take up less room in the case,,, and the midrange powders take up much more.. they are usable.. depends on what you are looking for from the velocity....

I also load a 444 Marlin, and the powders that work well in it are the faster powders that are good for the 223... your 9.3 is getting close to a straight walled case, with little taper at the neck....

I tried these powders in the 8 x 57, since it essentially looks like a big 223 case....I got some surprising fast loads that were very accurate....

Each rifle varies and is an entity to its own in the end... so all you can do is take loads and work up... 8 x 57 Mauser data with a 220 or 225 grain load would also be a good place to start and work up.....

Good luck...

cheers

I've found Varget, RL15 & IMR4064 very close in burn rate in my .338-06. VV150 is a tiny bit slower as is IMR4320. What powders do you have available to you?
