This is just an FYI... A friend of mine was disappointed to find that all of the online dealers that we normally use are out of stock or say that the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullets have been discontinued. We have spent some time and money developing a hunting load for his rifle and finally settled on using the .308 180 gr. TBBC bullet in his rifle. I wrote to Speer and asked them about the TBBC and they responded: "It is true that a decision was made to no longer offer the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw as component bullets. The new TBBC 'Tipped' bullets MAY be offered in 2010 or 2011 as components. Linda Olin CCI/Speer Technical Services " I have had the best luck with the Gerard's GS HV bullet in my rig, but it did not shoot well in my friend's rifle. I think we'll be going back to the revitalized Northfork 180 gr., probably my all time favorite hunting bullet for North American critters.

I'm sure you'll be able to locate suitably expensive ammunition w/TBBC's (hopefully in the cartridge you use). Cheers, Number 10

Sorry to hear about that news. I know each rifle is an individual beast, but truthfully, I've never been able to get the Trophy Bonded's to group as well out of the 2 rifles I tried them in as I've gotten with Nosler Partitions of equal weight. Maybe a 180 Partition will group for your rifle instead of the TBBC? Si tantum EGO eram dimidium ut bonus ut EGO memor

Kenati ----- The North Fork bullets are of the same type (bonded core front and solid rear) as the TBBC. I have always found the North Forks far more accurate. They are pricey with the new outfit, but if they work, how many a year will you shoot. Good luck and good shooting. phurley

I wholeheartedly concur about the Norhtforks. I had a little trouble with the TBBC bullet myself, but that's just what my friend's rig liked. However, with their discontinuation I have my buddy sold on the Northfork. Personally, I've been shooting the Northfork in 7mm for years, but didn't stock up on enough of the .308s before Mike shut down. Now that Northfork is back up and running, I will load them once again. (along with the GS HV still, most likely) I think most people on AR will agree that when you look at the entire "pie chart" of time and money invested in chasing game, the bullet is a mighty tiny sliver. But in terms of paying dividends, nothing can match it... biggest bang for the buck! (pun intended)

I doubt that the TBBC bullets sold well as they were just enormously overpriced One can get a comparable quality bullet from Northfork and Swift A-Frame for less than half the price........and yes.....they shoot very well! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I for one was willing to pay the premuim. I loved the way the worked when I shot them.
