I just entered the world of Blue Dot. I worked up some 7MM-08 loads with Blue Dot and 120gr Nosler BTs. I had so much fun with the Blue Dot loads I would like to work up some for my 30-06. I have done some searching for Blue Dot and the 30-06 on this forum and most everything I find is for 150gr and up. I would like to use some lighter bullets for my 30-06. I have a bunch of 110, 125, 130, 135gr .308 bullets. My two young boys will be using these loads for practice and punching paper. What would be a good place to start and end with the lighter bullets. Velocity is not important as these loads will be used for practice and fun.
Thanks

thumbWith the lighter bullets 18 to 26 grains should be safe. With the lighter charges there is always the chance of not getting pressure high enough to get a good seal at the neck and allowing some gas to escape into your face . This has happened to me with this powder so wear glasses. I would suggest you start around 21 grains. beerroger

Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

24 grains with 125 Remington, 125 NBT and 130 Hornady SSP performed well for me.
Forget which was best, but it grouped very well.

Did not try 110 in the 06, but they shot well with BD in the 30-30.
