That sounds like a great little hunting partner you have there, you should be proud. As for the WSSM it is dropping deer for you and that is great. My question is, how well does it group at 100 yards with your handloads?

I have got a .243 wssm in the Win model70 coyote. It is a sub moa rifle with the 95 gr. ballistic silver tips. I have shot 4 deer with it so far(does), and all have gone down in a hurry.
I have heard that they are not supposed to feed worth a damn, but this rifle is one of the best in my safe (27 rifles in the safe). It also has the chrome lined barrell that they say is not accurate.
Anyone can get a bad rifle from any manufactorer at any given time. The good news is, that if it doesnt shoot winchester will make right by it according to the story about the .223. I have heard about that particular .223 on several forums by the way. I like to hear the good and bad about everything, so I thought I would throw in some good for you.
I cant wait to get to the loading bench with this round and see just what I can come up with.
By the way, the four does killed were, 75yds(approx),212(Leica),287(Leica),and 303(Leica).

The 243WSSM i saw was a good shooter, the 270WSM and 300WSM i saw shot with handloads were awesome shooters. Almost all the great targets were shot with ballistic tips which is no surprise.

Looks like we are seeing way to many problems with the wssms for me to gamble on getting a good one.
I had a 222 mag that is the real deal but gave it to my grandson a few weeks back. His first ever 2 shot group was 3/8 in. He killed a 5 pointer with it the next day.
May buy a cheap 243 & if it don�t shoot I will work on it.

Hey at first my Winchester M70 in 270WSM shot just ok.Last Saturday I shot under 1/2 inch groups with Hornady V-MAX 110 and Nosler Accubond 140s.Not kidding under 1/2 " at 100 yds.Also point of impact was just about Identical.My 270 is no longer for sale.
