If I don't care about brass life, I can get 3940 fps with 75 gr. Vmax in my 257 Roberts Ackley Improved. There is little incentive for those with 257 Roberts, 257 Roberts AI, or 25-06 to move up to a 257 Weatherby or 25WSSM, as diminishing returns and throat erosion are the result. -- A society that teaches evolution as fact will breed a generation of atheists that will destroy the society. It is Darwinian.

There is now data posted on the Winchester ammo site. The factory loads posted are essentially identical in velocity as the factory 25/06. You might also find shortmags.org interesting. HTH, Dutch.

Jeff, because I don't want to pay the price in costs, wear and tear on the barrel, muzzle blast and recoil? Other than that, there is no reason not to go long.... FWIW, Dutch.

Dutch, There's no recoil ... seriously, and the blast aint all that much more.... but on any 25, I only shoot 3 to 5 and then let it cool way down jeffe

This web site is dedicated to the WSSM family of cartridges, and there is a lot of information for them including load data and the forum. http://wssmzone.com Jim Mace For all things WSSM... http://wssmzone.com Some told me, "Jim, sorry, you just can't...". To those I reply, "Watch Me..."
