I need the book listed max powder charge for a .270 Win with H4831sc and Sierra 140gr Gamekings (BTHP).

The 4th ed shows 50.9-57.9gr of H-4831. Note that is dosn't specify "sc", just the plain old H-4831. Hunting load is H-4831 @ 57.9gr, 3000fps/2797ft.lbs.

Sierra Edition 5, 270 Win, H4831SC, 140gr HPBT

50.0gr 2600fps (Starting Load)
52.0gr 2700fps
54.0gr 2800fps
55.9gr 2900fps
57.9gr 3000fps (MAX load)


I have become very leary of asking for people to look up loads for me lately. I used to think nothing of it but last week when I asked for a 30-06 load with IMR-4895, one person was glad to help out and gave the full range like I just did with velocities. Before loading anything I decided to go ahead and buy a set of Hornady books and found out that he had given me H-4895 information. They're close but not interchangeable.

Buy the book..........one typo and you could be toast. More than likely you will need more info. in the future anyway and you can never have too much.
