I would try...H1000, IMR 7828, RL 25.
Seems that alot of people find the Scirocco a tough nut to crack.
I found my greatest success with 7828....Good Luck!! ...sakofan..

I have tried the scirocco in two 300ultra mags and a friend has tried it in his and his sons ultramags as well. One gun shot the 165's into 1" but not one of the other three would do better than 1-1/2" with the 165 and not one of the four would do better than 1-1/2" with the 180gr.Fouling was also much heavier than normal in all guns.A friends 7mm rem mag will put the 150gr scirocco into less than an inch but still with heavy fouling. In all cases the powder charges had to be dropped as the sciroccos seem to produce more pressure than other bullets. For load charts try the swift website.

Sendero338;
Check your E-mail I sent the data you're looking for.
180's shot great in my 300Win, no fouling problem any worse than say a partition for me.
MM

P.S.
Same data as JSR posted, he sent it to me awhile back, but this is in picture form.

Thank's fella's for your reply's. I was just noticing that to load the scirocco to max aol. the darn bullet would have to be seated almost all the way down...close. Would seem to take up powder capacity, given the short neck and the browning clip.
Did not have this problem with my 300 ultra, althou the first box of shell's I purchased for it seemed to have the bullet's shoved almost all the way down in the case. Will probably load the Hornady's as the 180 btsp are 1.275 compared to 1.440 scirocco's. What do you think fella's?

Don't worry about OAL so much. Seat them to the max the magazine can handle (assuming that's well off the lands). If the rifle can't shoot them, then worry about OAL or using a different bullet for that reason.

Another thing you might keep in mind for these situations in the future--call Browning and buy a 375 H&H magazine for that rifle. It will go right in. And you'll be able to load nearly any bullet right out to the lands. If you're the "tinkering type" you can hog out the existing mag and achieve the same results.

The first report I ever read about that Scirocco was written in "Shooting Times" Magazine a few years ago. If I recall correctly, the most accurate load reported used IMR 4350, which is no surprise, since that is the powder of choice for 1000-yard competition with the .300 Winchester Magnum and 180-grain bullets. I'd back the load off a bit to 68 or 69 grains and give it a try.

I'd also try the old standards like Reloder 22, H4831, and IMR 4831. I've found that 73 grains of IMR 4831 gives fantastic accuracy with 180-grain bullets in the .300 Winchester Magnum.

I really like the 180 grain Scirrocco in my Lazeroni Warbird. I'm getting great groups and 3700 feet per Second with 99.9 grains of R25. I load 10 thou back from the lands but they wont fit in the clip.I moly coat my bullets and see no signs of fouling.

I couldn't get them to shoot in my Browning 300 win mag. Let me know if you find a load that works!

I tried the Scirocco 180... couldn't get it to group better than an inch in my gun. Nosler Ballistic tip 180 groups 1/2 inch all day long if I do my part.

Try 80.0 gr H1000
WLRM primer
2990 fps in my gun

83.0 is a MAX charge

Stubble-- has been out in the stubble field too long. There is nothing wrong with the
Scirocco bullet.Have loaded it in my wifes 7 mag and my 7 Stw. You and you friends better try another powder, or something is wrong with youre guns. Have dropped 4 elk-80grs Imr 7828 in 7stw past 400 yds with 150 gr Scirocco.3 neck shots and one hit the elk right below the eyes. It sounded like another rifle went off. Blew the whole upper jaw right off. All that was left was 2 empty eye sockets. You do have to load them down among other same bullets weights cause of the long bearing surface. If not, get the KG moly kit it takes alot of the pressure away.I load it in my 300 wby, 165gr Scirocco-- Same accuracy with 86.5 grs of Imr 7828 does one hell of a job on good sized blk bears. If you get fouling, slow down youre load, or clean youre gun// Far as grouping in 7stw Accumark, Can put three in or on the line of a circled quarter 100yds, and Rem-Sendero 300wby 1 in groups consistant- [Mad] [Roll Eyes] [Razz]
