I know very little about this bullet. I have seen a cut-a-way view and it looks like a Nosler Partition on steroids. How do they perform?

Actually they are more like a Nosler partition with the front core bonded to the jacket.....They don't shed the front core that the partitions do!

IMO they are among the finest bullet for big game one can find.

It was the bullet I took to Africa and it sure didn't let me down.

A lot of hunters use them for African plains game and even dangerous game as well.

Excellent bullet,great retention.
My first trip to Africa used the 300gr,loaded at 2400 fps in 375h+h,recovered only 2 bullets in taking 5 animals. First bullet recovered from a buff, shot was 22 yards, bullet was recovered from off shoulder and weighed 296.7 grs. Second bullet went thru both shoulders of a kudu at less than 100 yards and weighed 294 grs.
Like the 165gr. in the 30-06 for deer and elk.

Excellent big game bullet and accuracy is very good in three rifles I shoot them. Used the 250 gr in 338-06 for my brown bear and he was very sad when it was delivered. Retention weight somewhere in the rain forest of SE Alaska which is some of the most beautiful country I have hunted.

I use them and am a fan, very good bullet, stays together and doesn't blow huge gaping holes thru stuff, which is what I prefer a bullet to do. If you prefer gaping holes and DRT, the A Frame may not be for you. Some drop, some run, no biggee - they do a fine job, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Next question is for .375 H&H...250 or 300gr? I assume the 300 will penetrate better with less blow-up.

If I was just big game hunting the 250 is all I need.....if it's a cape buff.....well give me a heavier bullet!

+1 This 300 gr. .375 was recovered just under skin on off shoulder of bull eland. Have misplaced the bullet, but retained weight was very near the original weight.

The 250 grain A-Frame in a .375 H&H is all you need for anything in North America. It shoots flatter than the 300 grain. IMHO, the only use for the 300 grainers is for dangerous game in Africa or Asia.

As already stated the Swift A-Frame has some things in common withe the Partion bullet(H shaped jacket). They are quite different in other ways. The partion has approx 2/3 of the bullet weight in the front section of the core and 1/3 in the rear core. The front section of the core is made quite thin so it opens up reliably and often separates. This allows the front lead core to fragment resulting in a severe wound channel. The rear section continues to penetrate and may exit. The A-Frame bullets have approx 1/3 of their weight in the front section and 2/3 of its weight in the rear section. The lead is soldered to the pure copper jackets.The front section normally expands to approx 2x bullet diameter. Bullets I have recovered in a test box retain from 95 to 100% of their original weight. I have used these bullets in my 340 Wby on elk and moose in 225 &250 gr. I have never recovered one when shot into game. They penetrate very deeply. They are very good bullets on large game in my opinion.

Probably the best conventional lead core soft point available.
