Is anyone using one, and how do you like it? I bought one about 2 weeks ago. I really like it for the most part, but I have some concerns. I was at the range today working on developing a good load for my 308. I was using my chrono, and I was seeing a huge variation in muzzle velocity! At its worst, it was a 70fps variation. I don't know if it's because the scale on my new charge master is off, or what the deal is?! I'm using IMR4166 175gn Sierra tipped MK bullets, Winchester primers, and new Lapua brass. Any thoughts guys?

I have used one for a few years and the charge weights thrown are extremely accurate. I check frequently with my RCBS 1010 scales.

I also used the programme change to speed up the process. And I bought a brass sleeve that fits in the end of the powder dispenser and helps with smoother delivery, that was from someone makes them on Snipershide.

Cheers, Chris

I just got one.

Thus far, it appears to be working great and very accurate.

I check every charge with a second scale weight (i.e., double weigh every charge), and it's been within 0.1 grain every time.

I have one and it works for me very well. I need more of them. It could be perfect to have one for each powder I use ;-)

Try weighing a check weight, or check it against another scale. The ES could be from the Chargemaster, but I doubt it. As general rule hotter loads tend to tighten up, and sometimes a different primer will help. Others, I can never get rid of it without a powder change. Another possibility is your chronograph might be spitting out some wonky numbers. It wouldn't be the first one to do that.

I'm on my second Chargemaster. I got the first one many years ago, about the same time most of my friends did. There were problems with keypads back then, and everyone I knew that had one ended sending theirs back eventually. Whatever the issue was, they must have fixed it because all the off warranty replacements seemed to hang right in there. The warranty is only 2 years, but they covered them for a 60 dollar flat fee.

There is a comprehensive series of articles about them on www.accurateshooter.com, including the instructions on how to speed them up.

Reports/reviews are uniformly positive.

I need to get one next month.
