Boys,

Took my Fanzoj .465 out today...Dropped 2 rounds in the chamber...Yanked the right barrel..."Click"...delay...Boom!...same on Left bbl. End of shooting sesssion.

Hang-fire is what I'm calling it.

The ammo was factory 20 year old stuff loaded by BELL...As they are now out of business, figured it OK to mention by name...Otherwise would have contacted the manufacturer for answers before posting here. They're gone so I'm here at AR looking for answers.

Any thoughts as to why this happened?

Jeff

A cruel April Fool's joke planted by Bell 20 years ago?

If Bell was using Reloader 15 and no filler, then the excess air space would case hangfires, and it would have nothing to do with age of the ammo.

Degradation of the powder or primers is possible, but not likely in only 20 years unless the ammo was stored in a 130 degree warehouse.
