Wyoming Boy Some of the Ruger rifles have a long throatand seem to be a little fussy about what bullet they will shoot . Bullets with a long sloping ogive do not group as tight as some bullets with a shorter ogive.I have found that the 160 gr Speer bullet grouped as well as any bullet in a couple long throated 7mms I have owned. I have also found that IMR 7828 did very well. Start at about 65 grs and work up carefully to a max of approx 70 grs. These were safe in my rifles but no guarantees with any other rifle. I hope that helps.

Ruger’s get coppered up pretty quickly. Clean the copper out. Work up a load with IMR 4831 and a 150 grain bullet and be happy the rest of your life. Big Grin

I know this is the realoading section but trigger jobs and bedding are often necessary on Rugers. I have done tons of both of these on older and current rugers and it makes a big differance.
