Just how much can one reduce loads?

I would like to run a 300H&H/165gn about 2700-2750fps (max) for general hog hunting.

That isn't LOW!

Using faster powders, I can run a 300 Win Mag down to subsonic, 1000 fps....

SR 4759 is a great powder for accuracy in that cartridge...YOu can get about 2500 fps or so, with that powder, and that bullet.... and pressure will be right at factory specs....

cheers

Woodjack, you can go a lot lower than that but it's probably not worth the hassle. Most of the loading manuals that have data for the 300 H&H should have loads going down to the velocities you mentioned. I'm looking at the Speer manual right now and for the 165's it has data down to 2660 fps. not including a reduced load that runs from 1642-1908 using the SR4759 that Seafire mentioned above.
