| If you can't find anything the 308 Norma is 4% larger. Lower the starting norma loads by that amount and work up.

| I also have a 30-338 set up for long range work. It has a 30" barrel with a 1-10" twist. My favorite load used 77 gr. of H-1000, Fed 210 Match primer, 210 gr. Berger all in a Lapua 338 Win Mag case (can't get them anymore). My velocity was 2940 fps with accuracy hovering around 1/2" for 5 shots at 100 yards with an occasional group in the .4's. I was able to shoot this load once at 600 yards down in Albuquerque. Out of the three 5 shot groups fired, the smallest was 2.132" in ideal conditions - first light with no wind. I have other loads that shoot well in my hunting rifle in 30-338, 26" barrel. Let me know if you want me to pass those along as well. I never got around to trying them in my long range rig as the H-1000 load was found early on and I didn't think anymore experimenting was necessary. |
