I haven't found a load that my CZ likes for the 250 TTSX. Spoke with Barnes, and they haven't made a load either. Recommended their #3 Manual, and that didn't help much either. Double Tap has a blog in which the owner just returned from Africa with his new H&H loading with the 250 TTSX and he says he's getting 2900 fps. I would think you should be in the 3K range when you load yours.

Using N204 (88 grs) and getting 3150 fps with the 250 TTSX with my 375 AI and 26" barrel. Could go higher, but that's enough. Thinking about taking it antelope hunting in Wyoming this fall. AIU

I came back from the range today and found a descent load for my 375 RUM using Barnes 250gr TTSX.

Here it is:

Brass is Remington trimmed at 2.840"
Primer is CCI 250
Powder Hodgdon H-4350 Extreme SC
Charge is 97.0 gr
COAL: 3.585"

Five shot group at 100 yards measuring 1" center to center. I'm sure this load shoots better than that!!! I had a bad day. My barrel has a 1/10 twist and is 24 inches long. Velocity is at 3050 fps.

Maurice

PS. This load is safe in my rifle, but does not mean it will be safe in yours. Start low and work you way up!!!

Try RL-15. My .375 Wby likes it with the 250-grainer. Avoid faster powders for lighter bullets (eg. 4064).

When I first seen that Barnes had brought out a 250 gr TTSX bullet I thought that would be better suited to large North American game than some bullets in my 375 Wby. I checked my Barnes # 4 manual and there is no data listed for 250 gr bullets. When I contacted Barnes they E-mailed me data for a 250 gr X bullet from their # 2 manual for the 375 Wby. For the 250 gr they list 5 powders,H4895,H4350,IMR 4064,IMR4320 and RL15. 4320 was listed as obtaining the highest velocity. Start 74 grs and max 79 grs for 2974fps. 4064 delivered the next best vel followed buy 4895,4350 with RL15 bringing up the rear @ 2898 fps. That does nothing for your data for the 375 Rum.The Barnes # 4 manual lists the 375 Rum but with bullets of 235 gr and 270gr. For the 235 gr TSX bullet they list 93.5 grs of IMR 4350 as a start load and 101.5 as Max. For the 270 gr they list a start of 89.5 grs and a max of 97.5 grs of IMR 4350.For the 250 gr a safe start load would be about 90 to 91 grs of IMR 4350 and work up to a safe max in your rifle. Hope that helps. Let us know what works. I've got a Brno 602 at the gunsmiths right now that started its life as a 375 H&H being converted to 375 Rum.

I thought I would post a picture of the target since some of the forum members enjoy seeing them. Nothing to brag about but will do the trick on moose this year... Big Grin
