SaeedNew Sonic Chronograph
Sonic chronographGentlemen,
I just got one of these sonic chronographs, which might be good for those who have problems getting results close to power lines or variable lighting conditions.
I tried it for a few shots with an Oehler, and got very consistent results, varying by about 1.5% from the Oehler.
This was done with only a few shots of military ammo from a 308 Winchester.

HomerOzG'Day Fella's,
Saeed, thanks for posting that link!
Nice to see a person thinking outside the square with this design!!!
I have owned/used an Oehler 35P since the 1980's, and it can be a pain in the neck (and also the pocket with the .338 Lap Mag), when the lighting conditions weren't right!!!
Just had a thought, I assume it may not work to well, with projectiles traveling at Sub-Sonic velocities?
Doh!

SaeedWe use out Oehler in an indoor shooting range, and have arranged the right lighting for it, so have no problems using it.
You are right, this one will only measure super sonic ammo.

HeatHey Saeed,
Look on the realguns.com site. They have a barrel mounted electromagnetic chrono that might interest you.

http://forums.accuratereloadin...2511043/m/5181028091I would love to see how the barrel mounted magnetic chrono compares to the sonic and the oehler.

richjI think the sonic one would work best at a private range.
