I'm trying to get decent accuracy from the 130 grains TSX in my 6.5x57 using N160 or N140. At my first testing I only got about 2 inch 5-shot groups. I'm aware that this calibre isn't widely used, but maybe people shooting 6.5x55 can give me some useful advice on COL and charges/velocity compared to standard soft points of the same bullet weight.

I have had great results with the 130 TSX in my Model 70 XTR Featherweight Swede. WW Brass, Federal 210 GM Primer, 47.5 H4350, 130 TSX, OAL Lands - .05 (3.100 in my rifle). Chronys right about 2900 with excellent shot to shot consistency.

Gaviidae, that is excellent velocity, what length is your barrel? I have a 6.5 x 284 being built right now, and the smith has told me 50 grains of N160 with the XXX 130 is right at 3000 fps, 24 1/2" barrel. CCI LR BR primers, and also about 50 thou off of the lands. He is using and recommending Lapua brass, of which I already bought 100 pieces. Hope this is helpful dutchgus, despite different caliber info. Good Luck--Don

Hello Dutch, I think you're better off with Hodgdon 4831sc, easy to get in Holland. I chrony'd about 2940 fps in this caliber, for a friend of mine. My best freerun with the TSX 130 in .270 was a range of - 0.055 to - 0.070". MV 3112 fps. Accuracy three out of four @ 0.6 MOA. For load development use the Audette method, go to https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2511043/m/571104925 Nice day, Jan.

Maybe my problem is that I can't get near the advertised 0.05 off lands, due to the long throat of my 6.5x57 and the sharp pointed design of the TSX. I now load at a COL of 3.23 which is the maximum regarding reliable feeding and magazine length. With this maximum COL I'm still more than 0.20 off lands. The long throat causes no problem at all when I'm shooting the 85 grain Sierra; always sub MOA groups when I'm doing my part. Has the TSX problems with other long throated European calibres like 6.5x68 7x64 or 8x57?
