I need to buy a few thousand 40 gr. .224 bullets for my Hornet. Prefer the plain-jane Sierra 40 gr. spitzers, but other well-known standard (non-premium) bullets would likely be suitable too. These are gonna be used on sage rats in about 3 months........

Any suggestions for who has the best prices this week?

What the heck kind of rat hunting are you going to be doing in Oregon in the month of Feb??? I live in Bend and they don't get moving in Christmas Valley 'till March or April.

It's not unusual to see them out in February in NE CA and SE OR.

Right on Craigster. This year they were out playing around even before the snow was gone, just south of K-Falls. Besides, according to my calendar, three months takes us to the beginning of March...December, January, February, and at the end of those three months Voila, March starts and so do "squeaks", AKA Sage Rats.

I find Christmas Valley tougher...at first they aren't out regularly, then shortly after they are out munching all the alfalfa, it very quickly becomes too tall to see them. At which point we have to shift to Rock Chucks...aw, dang dancing, we really are abused!!

And a month or two later, its off to long-ears (jack rabbits) and 'yotes from Juniper over to Lakeview.......
