Buddy has a 454 Ruger Toklet? 5". He gets tight cases at 30gr of H110, 29gr seems to be OK. Book max is 31.4 Quickload max is 27.2 (at 39k)

QL likes AA7, AA9, 2400, power pistol for max vel.

anyone else run into hard case extraction above 29gr of H110

With a 5" barrel you're gonna get a lot of unburnt powder and flash with H110. I just obtained a pile of Speer 300 gr Deep Curl hollow points and did a workup with Accurate #7, #9 and 4100. #9 was the clear winner, with the 22.5 gr load giving a 5-shot group at 20 yds. of 0.73 inches in my 5" BFR. My reloading program says it should be doing 1395 fps at the muzzle, with 93% powder burn. A load of 29 gr of H110 produces just 50 fps more velocity, but only burns 81% of the powder, with lots of blast and flash.
