I am just about to carry out some load development shooting 165 or 180n grn bullets (probably accubonds) and was wondering if anyone had gained success with Vit 560 in a .300 WSM. The rifle I have is a Sako 85. Any experience/pet loads greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Hey Jon, I do in fact use quite a bit of VV 560 in my 300 WSM's. I like the 500 series powders, and VV powders in general. I find them to burn cleanly, and produce good consistent results. Velocities are good in my 300 WSM's. I don't have a 300 WSM in an 85, but several 75's and a couple of 270 WSM's in the 85, the VV 560 works well in all. Regards--Don

Hi Don Thanks for the input. I have always been a big fan of the RL series of powders and have been using RL22 with success in my 300 WSM. However this latest lot of powder seems to be not as fast burning as the last lot and I am not getting the velocity. So I am hoping to get more consistency with the VV powders.

I have found a very good load with H4350 and the 180gr partition, great accuracy and 2925fps.

I used N-160 in my 300WSM and got good velocity and accuracy. N-560 also works REALLY well in 06 based cases. Id try it.

Nice one I have also got some N-160 and will try that if 560 doesn't do it. Good to know you get the vel with 160 as I've always been concerned about not getting the speed. Thanks Jon
