Small Pistol Primers?

I have been reloading 38 super loads with standard winchester small pistol primers for quite some time now. However, I ran out tonight and had to make a trip to the gunstore. I looked around and they were out of my winchester, so I grabbed a case of rem 5 1/2 primers instead. Upon getting home, I browsed remingtons website and noticed that they offer a 1 1/2 and 5 1/2 small pistol primer, but doesn't state the differences between them. Are one of the two magnum primers? Safe to use in a 38 super? Or did I just buy a case of primers I can't use? Thanks in advance.

They are a mag primer but if you back off your normal load & work back up, you should be fine.
