IMO there's nothing wrong or objectionable with nickel plated brass. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Bill r: This question gets banged around every couple of months on this forum and many others. I use a lot of Nickel plated brass in many different calibers from 22 Hornet, 17 Remington, 222 Remington on up and through 308 Winchester, 280 Remington and 30/06. I have never noticed even the slightest hint of trouble with my loading dies, Rifles, accuracy or brass life in any of the Nickel plated brass calibers I use and have used. I use the Nickel plated brass in many of my duplicate calibers to keep the brass segregated to a particular Rifle. I also like the looks of Nickel plated brass and its earier to find once ejected in the field! Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

I've used nickel brass in 45LC for several years, only lost a couple due to splitting. I loose more on the range than I've lost to splitting. I only use a minimal flare on the case mouth, just barely enough to get a .452" cast bullet started. I've had 500 rounds long enough that the nickel is getting thin on a few cases. Use it in good health. I'm gonna buy more pretty soon.

bill r: Welcome! Aside from the "sparkle effect" of nickle-plated brass, they supposedly do not expand as much as brass only brass. Nickle coating being more brittle. Regards. Doc; 1st/77th Armor Vietnam Class of '68/'69
