| Have you changed any components ie Wad, powder charge, or shot charge recently? If not it could be that your final crimp station has become somehow misadjusted and is trying to put too much crimp and crushing the entire hull to the point you get a buckle. I would try to readjust the final crimp station height. It would be adviseable for you to post this question on the shotshell reloading forum also. good luck

| I have used both the AA wads and the clay busters and they worked great for awhile and now getting this problem on not all, but about 3 out of 10 loads. Nothing different as far as the powder or load goes though.... I will take your suggestion and also post to the other forum. I did look and see if the final crimp station had become loose or something, but it was rock solid tight. This is on a new loader and about 200 rounds through it. The final station cannot be done wrong because you pull the handle and then it brakes over to the stopping point. It is pretty idiot proof, but that does not say much for me tho... :0 |

| Have you changed hulls? You says your loader only has about 200 rounds through it. Are you new to shotshell loading? |

| same hulls- I reloaded 200 or so rounds when shooting league and started reloading- yes. completely new to it. The crimp on the end of the shotshell does not look too indented at all, it looks fine, just that the hull is kinked... oh... as I look at it... 1/3 up from the brass. |

| I responded on another thread. Have you reduced the amount of shot or changed anything at all? It sounds like your shot and wad column is missing some volume of powder, shot or wad. |

| I would take a couple of the bad loaded shells and take a razor knife and slice them open. Then I would take the components out and weigh them to make sure they are proper weights or "charges". Maybe your press is not dropping proper amounts of powder or shot?? And when you cut it open measure how far the wad is seating in the shell, then check how far a wad is seating in one of your good shells. It could be your wad is just not seating down far enough-causing a weakness in the shell wall. Tom.

| Check your wad pressure. That MEC loader should have an indication on that station. Suspect you will need to increase the wad pressure.

| TW As Ray said check the pressure setting, also have a look inside the the final crip die and see if there is any "gunk" lodged in the top. Either of these can cause the shell to get the bulge. Pressure setting can leave the shell to long and the "gunk" can cause the final step to compress to much. Best of luck...Carl

| sounds like the crimp die is set down to far, try backing it off a little at a time.
