A friend is starting to reload the 130 grains TSX for his 270Win using Viht. N160. Can anyone out here share his experience with this combination? Your suggestions on optimal COL for this bullet are also very welcome.

I have no experience with the N160. Loadtech lists a range of 51.8 to 57.5 for N160. Stopping at 65,000psi and 3000fps. The program shows higher velocitites with powders like IMR 4831, 4350, RL19 H414. As to the COL that will depend on your chamber, magazine length etc. I've pretty much found each rifle is a case of it's own. If possible seat the bullet as Barnes suggests below. Your magazine may not allow you to get that close to the lands and still function. If not seat as long as will function smoothly. Where do I seat the Triple Shock Bullet? Answer. As with the X and XLC Bullet, we recommend seating the Triple Shock .050″ off the lands {rifling} of your rifle. This length can be determined by using a “Stoney Point Gauge†or other methods. You do not have to seat the bullet at or on one of the annular rings. As usual just my $.02 Paul K
