What's the difference between the RCBS AmmoMaster 1 and 2 please? Are they both sold new today? What's the price difference? Is the more costly one worth the difference? If only the 2 is now sold new but you found a used type 1 for an attractive price, would you buy it if you wanted to reload 4 bore down to 50 BMG based stuff, down to Nitro Express cart's down to 500 S&W, and even smaller handgun stuff? Thanks. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

A big press used for loading short cartridges will work you. For any volume, use an appropriate press. ________________________ "Every country has the government it deserves." - Joseph de Maistre

To be totally honest I couldn't tell you the exact differences in them. As for the better price on one over the other, I shop for stuff like that all the time. Evaluate what your actual needs will be, then buy based on what you will get the most out of your money for. In simply looking them over on the net I really see no differences at all. The #1 might have a tad smaller clearance or they might have changed up the way the cam over works a bit to give more leverage. Not having them side by side however it is hard to tell. Looks like either will work for what you looking to do, the question is can you get the bushing to allow smaller dies to fit that huge hole for the 50 cal dies? If so I would probably go with the cheaper of the two and use the extra on the bushing. Just my .02 Mike / Tx

You will probably get better info posting on a 50BMG forum. Another way would be to contact RCBS and ask them the difference. My understanding, and I may well be wrong, is that the Series 2 is necessary for 50. AFAIK, only the Series 2 is currently produced. ________________________ "Every country has the government it deserves." - Joseph de Maistre
