A couple of years ago I purchased a few pounds of AA3100. Didn't realize until now that it is labeled as XMR-3100. Can't find the powder on accurate's web site as all they list is AA3100. WTF? Is load data interchangeable for these two powders? Thanks.

Yes it is the same powder--a few years back accurate arms begain to call their powder xmr. Not sure why. But remember that different lot's of powder can be different so it may not act exactly the same. (If you have a can of both xmr and aa). AA 3100 was designed to be alot like I4831 and re19. I find it is slightly slower and somewhere between say I4831 and I 7828.

Thanks for clearing that up kraky. Does anyone have load data for AA3100 and 180 gr bullets in the 300 win mag?

I have an accurate reload manual. I think their loads are on the light side. They list 72.0 as max for aa3100 and 180's. A quick check with my speer manual and it says 75.0. A check with my sierra manual says 74.9.

FYI, If you decided you liked the Accurate 3100 powder, you can get a cannister grade version of it that they call Accurate Data 86 Extruded from Powder Valley for $60 per 8 lb keg plus shipping and hazmat fees. When I order two at a time it works out to about $9.60 USD per pound. It is a nice medium slow burning powder that almost matches 3100 in performance (and loading data). I use it with good results in .243 Win, 6.5x55 SE and .270WSM. A friend loaded up some in 30-06 ammo with 200 gr Nosler Partitions and used it in Africa with good results.

Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

For loading data try accuratepowder.com, all of the loading data is on the website. I'll give you a second vote for Data 86 (the information for this powder is on the same website). Works like 3100, at half the price. My old gun likes Nosler 180's and about 75 grains of Data 86, but work it up on your own, which is the fun part. It burns clean and gives good groups.
