I hear some people swear by them. I have not tested them personally, for me, they are too expensive. I use Nosler Partitions. ( I wonder if Blaser really makes this bullets. Swift A frames in another name ?? ) Good shooting! H ------------------

AHunter. You are quite right. Blaser do not make them. My mistake. I believe they are marketed? by Blaser here in Norway. Magnar

The Blaser CDP Cartridges are manufactured by the Swiss Company RUAG (http://www.swissmun.com/). I've used the 7x65r on a small deer last year, it expanded pretty quick on a small 30 pound animal. Don't know what it is like with the heavier bullets. The design is very like the partitions, but the separation of the front and rear core is arcuated and not a simple straigt partition. This should help accurate because the bullet is more elastic and because this forms kind of a funnel it should expand rapidly. Franz ------------------

CDP's are indeed made in Thun (CH) for Blaser. They're basically dual cores with inner grooves. I've tested them extensively (for a gun magazine) in 7x64, .300 Win Mag, 9,3x62 and 9,3x74R. Very accurate (.5 MOA in my .300 Win's), very little case/bullet run out. I was surprised how little venison damage the 165 gn. .300 Mag and 286 gn. 9,3's cause to Roedeer (obviously the bullet is tough and meant for bigger critters). Also expensive (same as RWS). ------------------

Thanks. I'll think I have to try this bullet. I'll get down to work out some loads. If any of you have suggestions on where to begin, I would be grateful. Magnar [This message has been edited by magnarps (edited 02-15-2002).]
