Don't know about Sierra but I found that with 150's:
W-748 From 39.5 grains to 50.0 grains
Remington 9-1/2 Primer

And with 165's:
N-550 From 40.7 grains to 48.9 grains
Remington 9-1/2 Primer

The accuracy load listed in the latest edition of the Sierra manual says:
Accuracy Load: AA 2495 40.4 gr @ 2600 fps 2476 ft. lbs. of energy @ 100 yd.
Hunting Load: N 550 45.2 gr @ 2700 fps 2670 ft. lbs. of energy @ 100 yd.

Both loads use a Fed. 210M primer in Federal brass, and they used a 24" barrel.

I use N550 with a 210M primer in Win. brass. I have eased up over the listed maximum a small amount and found a load giving .5 MOA accuracy @2754 avg. with the 165 HPBT. It hits hard. Everything I have shot with that load has been DRT.

Is this load for 165 or 150 grain bullets?

Thanks for the info!

ABM, Why don't you just e-mail one of the techs at Sierra and they'll send you downloadable data on the 308, I've done that with my 708, 223 and 22-250, you'll need Acrobat Reader though to download this data, but it sure comes in handy. Go to Sierrabullets.com, and pick a tech to e-mail, ie: Rich@sierrabullets.com, just ask them nice, they'll be happy to help you out. Jay

Alaska Bush Man

I'm currently working up loads for an AR10t. The Sierra manual says that 46.1 grs of IMR4064 with the 155 Palma bullet. I'm using Win 8 1/2 120 primers. Bought a boat load of these primers a lot of years ago.
The manual also says to drop the load one to two grains of powder if you're using military brass. So far my accracy load looks to be some wherein the area of 44 grains IMR 4064.

Thanks you all!

I use VARGET with my 308 Win, but it seems N550 might be worth a try.
