Anyone have any idea where I can get a reamer and brass for this round stateside? Huntington's doesn't have any...

I figure I can load it using a 9.3x62 neck sizer...

I assume you mean the 9.3X64 Brenneke.

It is not all that uncommon a chambering.

I get my brass from The Old Western Scrounger, although I read that someone else was importing RWS brass now too.

Do a google search for reamer rentals and I am sure you could find one. I recall that Clift Labounty has a reamer, as he did the chambering for my wildcat based on this case.

No, I mean the 9.3x66 Sako.

The 9.3x64 Brenneke is a piece of cake to find stuff for...

Just FYI for those that may not be familiar with this cartridge.

For the velocities, multiply meters per second (m/s) by 3.28088 to get feet per second.

"Cartridge released by Sako in 2002-03 as a powerful new hunting round. It has the same head size as the 9.3x62 Mauser and was designed to be the maximum sized cartridge to fit into a standard sized .30-06 action without alterations. The case dimensions are similar to the 9.3x62 Mauser except it is stretched 4mm in length in the body section, no other changes otherwise."

I just talked with Sako (Beretta) and they say that no ammo, rifles, or brass has been sent to the states, so I guess I am out of luck, unless there is someway to import ammo from Europe?

9.3x62,

I have no info about a reamer. However, while they don't list the 9.x66 on their site, I did notice this on Superior Ammunition's web site:

"If you don't see it here, we can find it! Unusual or hard-to-find cartridges can be specially made from cylinder brass, or we can neck down or up and fire-form cases if necessary."

Might be worth a call to them just to see what they have to say about the 9.3x66 Sako.

Thanks, Bob. I'll give them a try. I've just talked with Dave at Pacific tool, and a reamer is no problem (they actually did the originals for Sako). We talked about making brass out of 280 brass (which is about 64.5mm) and then letting is "grow" to 65.5mm or so. He seemed to think it would work provided we add a match throat (not the long CIP throat).

4200 ft/lbs from a 473 casehead is quite impressive. Horsepower AND mag capacity AND no bolt face work.

Leo, that is good news. They won't ship ammo to the USA, but I bet I can get some of that brass somehow... 6+ weeks of delivery and photocopy of credit card and any number of hoops I don't yet know about...

So maybe this can be done...
