I was wondering is someone had a program and could run a trajectory for me on the following: 280 Improved 140 gr. Swift A frame or Northfork, flat base 3175-3200 fps zeroed for 1" high @ 100 yds zeroed for 2" high @ 100 yds Thank you.

Hey Prewar70 Factors: 280 Rem, 140 Swift A frame, 3200 fps, BC .335, Scope height 1.6", 1000' altitude, 40 degrees, 78% humidity 1" high at 100 yards: 200 yd -.5", 300 yds -7.1", 400 yds -24.1", 500 yds -40.2" 1" high at 200 yards: 100 yds +1.7", 300 yds -4.9", 400 yds -16.9", 500 yds -36.5" ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

Sighting 2.5" high at 100 yards might improve your 6" diameter point blank range some. No more than 3" high or low out to 303 yds. Factors: 280 Rem, 140 Swift A frame, 3200 fps, BC .335, Scope height 1.6", 1000' altitude, 40 degrees, 78% humidity 2.5" high at 100 yards: 200 yds 2.4", 300 yds -2.7", 400 yds -14.1", 500 yds -33.1 You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

Just a suggestion Try the Barnes Triple Shock 140 gr with a BC of .477 and the ballistics change: 1" high at 100 yards: 200 yd -.3", 300 yds -6.1", 400 yds -17", 500 yds -33.8" 1" high at 200 yards: 100 yds +1.6", 300 yds -4.3", 400 yds -14.6", 500 yds -30.8" And the energy at 300 yards changes from 1754 foot pounds with the A frame to 2110 foot pounds with the TSX. And your groups will probably be better. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

Jackfish and Woods, Thank you both. The Swift bullet is very accurate in my 280 Imp. and I hope to try the Northfork very soon as they just arrived in the mail. 2.5" at 100 yds sounds pretty good as you pointed out Jackfish.

Download Pointblank at http://www.huntingnut.com and enter your data. Pay attention to the wind drift too as it can be more difficult than drop. Print out the data for all loads and carry one in your pocket. Join the NRA

Savage99, That is awesome! I can't believe that kind of program is available for free. What more could a reloader ask for. Thank you.

Click on Ballistics Calculator at the top of the page and then View Data. Find "Targ Dist" at the bottom and change that and click accept. Join the NRA
