Other than 15 grains, is there a difference in bullet construction between the 100 gr and 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips? Is the 115 gr designed for slower expansion? If they're of identical construction, I don't see what benefit 15 grains would make one way or the other. Please give me the low-down.

The differnce is how your gun can handle the different weight. I know that my 25/06 perfers the 115 BT. But in X bullets it like the 90 grain but not the 115 grain or the 100 coated. It has to do with the bearing surface that the rifle prefers.
I know the 115 BT is designed for deer size game I am not sure about the 100 grainer.

Like Hcliff, my 25-06 likes the 115 NBT over the 100 or 85 grain bullet. The 115 has been VERY effective on antelope, deer and coyotes (TOO effective) and extremely accurate at 3100 fps. From what I've heard the 100 and 115 are relatively heavily constructed for use on game and the 85 very frangible for use on varmints.

The 115 NBT has been very effective on deer out of my .257 Roberts starting out @ 2750 fps m.v. However, they haven't left much of a blood trail, so I'm trying the 100 gr. NBT @ 2950 this yr. to see if it works better. The 4 deer I've killed with the 115 gr. NBT have gone only 50 yds. at the most after the lung/heart shots. So, performance is there, I just want more blood to follow if/when a less than perfect shot is made.
The 100 gr is also designed for deer sized game.I have taken over a dozen of our canadian bucks with the 100gr out of my 257 wby and was very happy with the results.

The 115 gr. NBT has worked great in my son's 25-06. He started using it 3 yrs. ago and it's accounted for 3 deer to date. Using a case full of RL-22 it shoots under one inch all day long. Longest shot 220yds., shortest 25yds.
Both bullets are adequate for deer sized game. Find the one that shoots the best and have fun. My 25/WSM shot the 115Bt's into less than 1/2" at 100 yards with the first load I tried with it so I didn't feel a need to look any further. However I've used the 100Gr Bt in a 25-06 and had good results.
