From a handloading perspective, does either the .220 Swift or .22-250 Remington have an advantage over the other one? Thank you. Buliwyf

From what I've seen the .220 Swift entitles you to certain bragging rights around the campfire, but a varmint in the crosshairs is in equal danger with either at any given distance. "The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter" - Winston Churchill

Only on paper.....in the real world they are identical.....further...many would be surprised how well the 223 fares in this light as well. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Although both are capable of fine accuracy, I believe the consensus among knowledgeable handloaders that it's easier to get the 22-250 to shoot accurately than the 220 Swift. Justifiably or not, the 220 Swift has more of a reputation of being a barrel burner as well.
