Why do the instructions say to lube the cases? Other carbide dies say no lube is needed.

Depends on if you are talking about pistol or rifle die.

Don't need to lube carbide pistol die, but do need to lube carbide rilfe die.

you don't ahve to lube pistol cases, but a progressive press runs much smoother if you give them a little spray of one shot.

I'll have to look for that in my instructions.

I will say I've been using their carbide pistol dies in my 550 since 1995 and have never used lube.
