I am looking for someone that may have come up with a load for the 6mm Remington VLS that will shoot sub .25" groups.

I have a Rem 700 VLS in 6mm Remington with a 1 in 9 twist (I believe) and have come up with a load that will shoot sub .5" groups at 100yds using 47.5 gr H1000 and a 105gr Starke long range bullet. This gun has been glass bedded and the trigger has been tuned.

You should be happy with what you are getting out of a stock rifle, Best bets is that it probably won't get any better. But that is the fun of reloading, always try to do better. At the present I am shooting a .222 on a 40xbr and getting groups just under a 1/2" at 200 yards and don't see that it can get much better so am having a 6MM PPC built. Good Luck

I have a 6mm Rem on a standard BDL stock. It has not been bedded but I did adjust the trigger and free float the barrel. I like H380 with a 55gr Nosler BT at 4000 fps with 1/2" groups at 100 yds. The other load that does well for me is IMR 4831, 45.3 gr with a Hornady 100 gr SP is under a inch at 200 yds. Maybe with the Starke you will get what your looking for. I have a friend who likes IMR 4350 in his P. Dog rifle BDL heavy barrel. Good luck on your quest.

I have a 40-X in 6mm with a 1 in 10 twist. The best load I have for it 43.1 gr of BLc2 with the hornady 75 gr moly V-max. It runs 3480 fps at 15 feet with a single hole at 100 yrds and slight oval groups at 200 yards. The load is dirty but cleans easily.

i have the vls in 6mm as is yours.i have it bedded a shillen trigger a 24xbr leupold a hart pedastal rest. i have tried every bullet and powder that you can imagine. the 107 sierra matchking with a casefull of imr 7828 is the tightest with the 105 berger and rl 22 second.they both avg. around .400 with an occasional group a little better. that being said i doubt you will ever get any factory rifle of any make to avg. an honest .25. i finally settled on the hornady 87 bthp and a max charge of rl 19. it goes 3250 and will shoot an honest 1.5 group at 300 yards.

Well, I am not sure you can expect much more than you are already getting from your Remington 700VLS. Those are great groups already!

But, for the record, I have a custom built 6mm Remington that is on a Remington 700 action and uses a Shilen match grade SS barrel. It has a tight neck (.269") and has been pillar bedded into a McMillan stock. It has a Jewell trigger and a 6.5 X 20 Leupold scope in lapped Leupold rings.

If I will do my part, it will shoot groups of .25 inches or slightly better with some loads. I believe the most accurate I have tried is a W-W case, a Fed 210M primer, 48 grains of H 4350, and a Sierra 70 grain HPBT.
In my 26 inch barrel, this load chronographs about 3560 fps.

This is a long range varmint rifle, having a 1 in 12 twist. I have shot prairie dogs in excess of 750 yards with this rig.

My all time favorite varmint load is a Win case, a Fed 210M primer, 47.5 grains of IMR 4831, and a Sierra 80 grain Blitz bullet.
This chronographs around 3450 fps and is a great long range varmint load.

I noticed you are shooting heavier bullets. My 6mm was built with a 26 inch Shilen barrel with a 1 in 12 twist, strictly for varminting.

Have fun, R F
