My Contender .22 Hornet clocks between 2750 and 2800 with the 35 grain VMax and 13.1 grains of Lil Gun. I get 2730 with the 45 grain Nosler Hornet Partition and 13 grains of Lil Gun.

I guess it depends on what you are wanting to accomplish. Personally, I like 40gr V-max with 13.2gr Lil'Gun in my Hornet. I get right at 3000fps and usually less than 1 MOA with no excessive pressure signs.

I like the 40g Vmax too but it is to long to feed in the 527 mag so i am sticking with the shorter bullet lenghts

I have had my best results with 40gr bullets... although the 50gr TNT works pretty well, also. The ballistic coefficient of the 35gr is just not all that great.... although I've heard of people shooting some pretty incredible groups with them. I would imagine they would be a little bomb at the speeds you should be able to get. If you want maximum velocity, it's got to be Lil Gun... hands down. I'm sorry I don't have any loads using 2400, I played with it a little, then went with AA1680, and never looked back. Lil Gun is just that much better. 1680 is very consistent, with really good velocities, but Lil Gun beats it for sheer speed. Good luck....
