| Most seem to use AA1680 or RL7 for this caliber. I have one, but haven't started loading for it, I'd buy aome 1680.

| I used 1680,but had trouble with the gun feeding softpoint bullets(chinese sks). Also trouble with the barrel measuring .313,making .308 bullets a loose fit, with resulting poor accuracy.

| I use H4198. I tried .308 110 and 150 grain bullets and they actually shot pretty good in my SKS. The 123 V-Max shoots better though, but not by alot. |

| I use 24.0 grs of IMR-4198 with a 123 grain Hornady (.310") soft point and this load seems to shoot well in my SKS.

| I also have found IMR 4198 to be my goto powder in the 7.62x39. In a Ruger 77 with a Hvy barrel with a 1-12 twist (.310), 25.0gr will put them in about .5" at 100 yds for five shots with the 123 fmj that Winchester sold years ago. |
