I posted this in the wildcat forum. No response so I try it here. Is there anyone that is using the Pressure Trace system with savage rifles? I'm interested in using a Savage as a testbed for a family of cartridges (Gibbs). But the strain guage attachment with the barrel nut makes me wonder if there is sufficient room to mount the guage at the case midpoint. I dont have a savage in front of me to do any measurements. Could you take a little off the nuts forward flange and turn the barrel to the minor dia. of the threads from the nut forward. Thus getting a clean surface to mount the strain guage. Thanks Ray Ray ...look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. | ||

Ray, you can set the Savage up so that the barrels are mounted the same as a Rem action, but that kind of nullifies the easy barrel switching feature, or I guess I should say "Easier". You can also just turn a more narrow nut to use, which will leave you with more barrel available for mounting your gauge. - Dan "Intellectual truth is eternally one: moral or sentimental truth is a geographic and chronological accident that varies with the individual" R.F. There is a possible answer to your question here on the Q&A page of RSIs web site http://www.shootingsoftware.com/ptsupport.htm#A10 ------------------------------------ The trouble with the Internet is that it's replacing masturbation as a leisure activity. ~Patrick Murray "Why shouldn`t truth be stranger then fiction?
