Since I shoot a 6XC and H4350 does great service with 107 grainers, I thought that I would tinker with success and subject myself to YAP (yet another powder) to try. Got the Hybrid, which is slower than 4350 but faster than 4831. Results: Bullet = Sierra 107 Matchking copper (not moly), LC military case, WSR primed, just off lands, temp 35 degrees f, Kreiger 28" stainless, 1:8 twist, Rem 700 action. Using Hybrid powder (OK, first I worked it up carefully) I got the following: Weight Velocity 37.0 = 2813 fps (H4350 = 2691 fps, moly bullet) 38.0 = 2891 fps (H4350 @ 38.1 = 2833 fps)) 39.0 = 2980 fps (This is max load for me and H4350, and gives ~ 2900 fps) 40.0 = 3052 fps 41.0 = 3101 fps (slightly sticky bolt lift) So, gives greater velocity. No primer or case deformities. Next step is dropping down to 40.0 and seeing how the accuracy goes. The whole point of more velocity is for long range performance. Anyone else tried Hybrid? Seems that it may have a place in the .243 with heavier bullets as well. I'm going to test with 100 grain Sierras next. Good shootin' Flinch

Er...DUH...not "Military Case", should read Winchester case. Was looking at 223 data entry. Flinch

Try dropping back .5 you may pull it off there. Are you testing your CUP/PSI? Your the first person I heard talking about jumping 1gr when load testing. Personally, how I find my load is to start low and work up moving .3 to .5 GR at a time. Until I find a bullet powder combo that works best. After that I start looking at different primers to tighten my groups even more. I also think this is the best part of hand loading is trying to find what works. I also do each test in lost of 20 to 50. Spend the after noon trying that particular load. Here is some load data off of the Hodgon web page. The heaviest bullet I see listed are 107. Thanks, << "...first I worked it up carefully" >> Actually, the listed loads were results of testing at intermediate step ups in powder charges. Listing all umpty dozen loads (since I am typing lazy!) seemed like a lot of work :> Also, Hybrid was tested with lighter bullets, but as expected the faster 4895/varget/benchmark still rules there. Not included were tests of H4831SC - too slow and gave pressure signs before the same velocities as 4350, even with Berger 115 grain bullets. I don't have a .243 that will handle heavier bullets (too slow twist on mine) so no way of testing vs Hodgon loads. Regards, Flinch
