As you probably know, the Hornady Manual doesn't list such a load. If I were doing this, I would get a manual that listed a load for another 350 grain jacketed bullet and use that as a starting point. If I could find no data for a 350 grain bullet or heavier and really HAD to try this, I would search my soul, consult several manuals and come up with a reduced load based on 300 grain data. If I were doing this with a Desert Eagle, I would probably pray quite a bit as well. I would be much more comfortable experimenting using a Thompson/Center Encore than with a revolver or semiauto.

I tried looking on both the hornady and the hoggdon web sites with no luck. The bullets that I found however at the store were 350 grain. It is a desert eagle that I am fireing it out of. what are the problems that you have heard about that gun?

If you go to www.hodgdon.com you will find a load for 325 grain bullets. You can get appropriate bullets made by Speer from www.midwayusa.com. The Desert Eagle is designed to operate at 35,000 psi. If you use heavier loads than it was designed for, you risk damaging the gun. If you are loading for a Desert Eagle, I would advise abiding by loading manual recommendations. Best of all would be loads worked up in a Desert Eagle (I forget which one, but either the Hornady or the Speer manual loads were worked up in a Desert Eagle). There is a yearly publication from Hogdon that lists various loads. There is a load listed for the 50 AE in the 2006 edition. The latest Hornady and the last two Speer manuals have 50 AE loads as well.
