Need some help finding reloading data using IMR 4831 in the 257 Weatherby. I would like to give this combo a try in my new rifle. Any information would be helpful. Scott

66 to 67 grains of IMR-4831 with 110 Accubonds should serve you well. I have also used 68gr with 100gr Partitions. You will get better performance with IMR-7828. Free men should not be subjected to permits, paperwork and taxation in order to carry any firearm. NRA Benefactor

30378 - Thanks for the information. I will be working some loads with 7828 also but had 2 lbs. of IMR 4831 so I thought I would give it a go. All the data I have looked into has recommended 7828. I will be working with 100 to 120 grain Nosler Partitions and Barnes TSX. Scott

The Speer Reloading Manual, #10, gives loads for the .257 Weatherby and IMR 4831: Up to 65 gr. with 120 gr. Bullets. Up to 68 gr. with 100 gr. bullets. Up. to 71 gr. with 87 gr. bullets. Speer used a Weatherby Mark V rifle, Weatherby brass, and CCI 250 primers. "How's that whole 'hopey-changey' thing working out for ya?"
