Hello, I've done searches on Google and on this site, and I can't find an answer. I am using a new Hornady die set with their fairly new Zip Spindle. I can't tighten the spindle lock enough to keep the threaded spindle from spinning. So, basically, no matter how tight the spindle lock is, I can still thread the spindle in and out by hand. Is that the way it's supposed to be? Do I just have to keep an eye on the spindle at all times? Seems a little odd to me. Thanks

Spark up an acetelene cutting torch and cut up the piece of shit Get some Redding or Forster or RCBS dies That zip spindle hornaday is garbage IMHO. Did you use two wrenchs to tighten it? Well I dont want mine tight anyway. Stupid design, I like my expander to "float" so the necks wont get bent. Leave it loose so the expander "floats" and see if it stays put and doesnt 'zip'(pull threw) when you run the expander up out of the case neck. I called hornaday a couple times, to see if they had a replacement non zip threaded spindle or a floating expander spindle for that die, "nope". They sent me a new zip spindle, " maybe mine was bent", oh boy! Didnt help at all. I replaced the one crappy hornaday die set I bought with a different brand I will never buy hornaday dies again
